    Looking at it by decade:

From the 90s, I have rarely read anything negative about Mira Sorvino’s and Mercedes Ruehl’s wins.

The 80s: Olympia Dukakis’ win is pretty much loved all around.

The 70s: Very little arguments against Redgrave and Heckart’s wins.

The 60s: Sandy Dennis, Lila Kedrova, and Rita Moreno usually win in most line-ups I have seen

The 50s: Eva Marie Saint is beloved all around, same goes for Donna Reed and to a lesser extend Wendy Hiller

The 40s: Claire Trevor and Anne Baxter always win in the polls (I don’t even remember who was nominated along them, doesn’t matter anyway), also Ethel Barrymore but her movie is not widely seen.

The 30s: Fay Bainter all the way

Mo’Nique in 2009 was one of the most powerful supporting performances to win this century.

Beatrice Straight in Network – For the sheer fact she managed to win based on a single scene!

I always love the fact that Supporting winners are more diverse than the ones in the lead. But for the best, I have my top 10 personal best and 10 worst winners down below.

01 – Eva Marie Saint for On The Waterfront

07 – Meryl Streep for Kramer VS Kramer
08 – Beatrice Straight for Network
09 – Lupita Nyong’o for 12 Years As Slave ( My personal choice that year was either Julia Roberts or June Squib, but as I watch her performance I was just completely blown away.)
10 – Kim Hunter for A Streetcar named Desire

Bonus: Ruth Gordon for Rosemary’s Baby

    Worst 10
