I’m trying to create a master list of shows that ran multiple seasons that were never nominated for any Emmys whatsoever – no acting, no technicals, nothing. Here’s what I have so far. Please add to the list, and hopefully we can compile a master list by how many seasons it was on the air. I can’t seem to find a good resource on this anywhere!

    America’s Funniest Home Videos
    Big Brother
    The Bachelor
    The Bachelorette
    Melrose Place
    Rescue 911
    Dawson’s Creek
    Hangin’ with Mr. Cooper
    Step by Step
    Martin
    Bachelor in Paradise
    NCIS New Orleans

Well, you can include most of the CW shows like The Vampire Diaries, Arrow etc.

Ultimately, I want to come up with the two or three longest running shows that were never nominated, so maybe that’s a more fruitful way of doing it, instead of focusing on shows that were only on for two seasons or anything like that. I’m positing based on my research that America’s Funniest Home Videos/AFV is the longest running series to never be nominated for an Emmy. Does anything beat it?

    In terms of good shows?

    Dear White People
    Rectify
    The Carmichael Show
    The Deuce
    Search Party
    Underground
    Fleabag
    You’re the Worst
    Search Party
    Broad City

The Leftovers and Halt and Catch Fire were saved by one nomination.

Yeah The Leftovers, while it was able to get 1 nomination, basically has gotten no love. I would even say that voters got confused and saw her name and thought it was for THT. So I’d say The Leftovers has never been able to get a nomination for itself.

Danny Phantom was simply amazing and deserved to be nominated every time it was eligible and submitted.

Arrow has been more uneven throughout its run but definitely deserved to be nominated for Stunt Coordination at least a couple times by now.

Manhunt: Unabomber wasn’t exactly a masterpiece but it was certainly far superior to many shows that actually did get major Emmy nominations, I found the storyline and characters infinitely more engaging than anyone from that Godless crap, even more than Daniels’ fine but overrated villain. I was much more fascinated by Paul Bettany as The Unabomber.

Note to myself: Don’t ever feed the trolls. Don’t get involved in others drama. Don’t let myself be swayed by others predictions, trust my gut more often!

Note to all others: If you don’t happen to like me, ignore me. It is that simple.

Bojack Horseman has been saved by one nomination for Kristen Schaal’s great voice-over performance. The fact that “Fish Out Of Water” couldn’t even get nominated for Animated Program says a lot of bad things about Emmy voters tastes, especially when the stale Simpsons got nominated that year instead. Talk about being behind on what’s acclaimed and popular!

Veronica Mars is, for me, a notable full series snub – as noted about, anything WB/CW is just considered trash, even when the show is actually award worthy, and garnered other award nominations during its time like WGA and TCA (the critics one, although they did also get Teen Choice noms!).

I thought Southland went its whole run without any Emmy love, but it turns out they were nominated 3 times (and won twice) for stunt coordination. I still consider this a massive snub for one of the highest quality shows of the past decade.

Charmed ran for 178 episodes and 8 seasons but never received a single Emmy nomination. Veronica Mars and Popular also ran for some well received seasons and were also never nominated. Maybe it was something about shows about young powerful women that the Television Academy couldn’t handle?

I just double-checked to be sure and Joan of Arcadia was indeed nominated for Drama Series for its first season, so probably no to that theory. The Emmys have always been more progressive than the Oscars, if just slightly so.
